I then open them all in Camera Raw and start working my way in one of them. This can take a long time and I don’t want to work on images where I didn’t have time to relax or eat lunch.
So I need an alternative workflow that is light-weight (I am a photographer, not a PC user). For now I’ve looked at Imaging Edge which in terms of price and features is more interesting than the competition. But it’s a very early stage of development. In my first tests I found a lot of things won’t work and must be fixed by the developer(s). This goes for the cropping and other basic stuff.
When I start using it the final product is very satisfying. I haven’t tried using them as a catalog or with the other Adobe applications yet.
In my opinion, all the products are still good, but their categories lack quality and what I usually use them for is already available in other products, too.
I am especially interested in seeing IHDR (even with drawbacks) and understand its importance if you shoot in the RAW-domain. This is not only for the huge dynamic range but also for being able to change and fine tune the white balance.
Also I am missing some tool to centralize the sharing for my clients and different PR/news journalists.
The Cloud is basic only. Also not a lot of apps for mobile devices available. That means no access to my files in the vacation for example and no sync between devices. The sharing is just like it is with many competitors. The iCloud is a step behind.
Maybe someone who uses other products can tell me what they use and their wishes/needs. If you use and own all the products

I have to admit that the success of the new Camera Raw version is inspiring me to do more work on my own projects. I have plans to make the GPU based version of Argyll colour correction open source so that the amazing photographers at Argyll can continue to benefit from their work on the desktop.
